Customize your embedded presentations
Now you can customize your embedded presentations. From the presentation’s page, click on <>embed, then select ‘Customize’. From there you can:
![new SlideShare embed features]()
Start an embedded presentation on any slide. A long requested feature - you can now start on any slide of your choosing on an embed. For example, suppose you are embedding the slides from your latest talk, and you really want to point out Slide No. 5 to your blog readers. Just select from the dropdown menu to start on Slide 5.
Select the size of your embedded presentation. When embedding your presentation you can now choose from four sizes.
Remove related content. At the end of each presentation, viewers are given the option to view related content. You can now remove the option to display related links by selecting “Without related content”.
Zipcast wows the world We knew that we were excited to launch Zipcast, so when the rest of the world got as stoked as we were it was a thrill. Our first Zipcasters included Marshall Kirkpatrick of ReadWriteWeb, BJ Fogg of the Stanford Persuasion Technology Lab, and Twitter expert Laura Fitton, CEO of OneForty. The chat room buzzed with lively banter between the audience and presenters. But when Mari Smith author of ‘Facebook Marketing: An Hour A Day’, started her Zipcast, that was a whole new ball game. Bringing an audience of 2000 viewers, Mari tweeted, “I'm a big fan of Zipcast after my session today!”
We couldn’t have dreamed the Zipcast press coverage would be so overwhelming. Everyone from Fast Company to PC World to Fortune magazine had positive things to say plus ideas for using Zipcast. You can find a summary of the coverage on our blog.
Announce your own Zipcast!
Are you planning an upcoming Zipcast? Announce it on our schedule ahead of time to maximize the size of your audience. We watch this page as well, and might tweet it out which will help drive more participants. Subscribe to the schedule on Plancast to receive updates of future Zipcasts.
SlideShare for fundraising? Who would’ve thought?
Jesse Desjardins, that’s who. As Lalorek describes in this TechChi blog post, Jesse was able to raise $2275 in just 26 hours in order to finance his trip to South By Southwest. He calls it “The World's Greatest Opportunity” and promises donors that he will promote them in daily SXSW updates on SlideShare. What a great idea - we will be watching for those updates. Have you found an interesting and unusual use of SlideShare? Drop us a line, we’d love to hear about it.
Going to South by Southwest?
We’ll be there, too. In preparation, we’ll be hosting Zipcasts on March 8 and 9. Watch for details on our Plancast schedule. And be sure to check out the SXSW presentation channel for the latest presos as they are uploaded. If you’re presenting, be sure to tag your slidedeck SXSW11 to make sure it displays in our search results If you’re attending, you may want to take a look at Dave Delaney's 20 Tips You Must Know Before SXSW 2011.
