Hey all,

I am writing a business operation that sends e-mail notifications. The notifications contain sensitive information, so I would like to mark them as confidential as is possible in Outlook. Is there a way to do this by setting some property on the message?

I would greatly appreciate any information that you can provide.

Thanks.

I haven't done this myself, but it looks like you'd use the Headers (array) property of %Net.MailMessage.

Here are a couple of header types that seem useful:

- Importance (Values: High, normal, or low)
- Priority (Values: normal, urgent or non-urgent)

Also unless Outlook is encrypting the mail body this will only be a suggestion and will not keep the email confidential, it  just flags it as confidential.  All mail in general that is sent over the internet is plain text and someone with the right tools will be able to read it.  There may be rules in Exchange that prevent ‘confidential’ email from being sent to an outside address or stuff like that but I can’t see anything that suggests if you sent it to the wrong person they would not be able to read it.
