Hello,

We are trying to access files on a network drive defined as

\\uhnd-v-name\directoryname

but the business service says the file path is invalid.

When we log on the server with the user that we nornally do we can see the drive. This is in Ensemble 2012.

We have similar processes working under 2009 - is there something we need to set on 2012 to ensure it can see these drives.

Thanks

Sue

Does Ensemble run on a Windows box?
If so, what account does the Ensemble service run under? It may not have permissions to access the folder.

Hi Sue,

I agree with Marc - it's most likely a permissions issue.

If it's a Linux (or *Nix) system, you'd usually have the external network share mapped as a CIFS share from /etc/fstab and access it from the mount point that the network drive is mounted to - like

/cifshares/mnt/unhd-v-name/directory

Your /etc/fstab would have an entry like:

//uhnd-v-name/directoryname /cifshares/mnt/unhd-v-name/directory cifs credentials=/cifshares/credentials,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777,rw,_netdev 0 0

Hi,

As you both suggested it was a permissions issue.

We changed the Ensemble service user to be the same as the 2009 service user and its working fine now.

Thanks for the help.

Sue
