As I mentioned in one of our the meetings, it will probably be a good idea to check off some of the items on the attached list before you schedule yourself to take SEE3. (By the way, this list is something we discussed around the second week of the study group meetings. Someone was supposed to distribute a version of this to the group members.)

We know you will need to pass these courses to attain "Master Tax Advisor" status, so you might as well do it in such a way that it will help you review for the SEE3 (rather than take the WBTs after you pass the SEE).  However, I've known some people who were able to pass SEE3 without taking the Representation WBTs.  Choose what works with you depending on the time you have available in your hands.

Urban Legend: For a while, there were rumors swirling in the valley that a tax pro can be "Master Tax Advisor" simply by taking the WBTs on this list.

Please note at the bottom of the first page: one of the requirements to be MTA is to "attain EA status." (And Don J. and Sandy are two exams away from doing that).

Thanks, Ida.  I look forward to our group's preparation for SEE2 next week.

Thanks for reminding us that it is not just about completing the tests for those of us who work for H&R Block. We have completed a major step when we pass all three sections, but as always our learning continues on. Ida Rowe

I guess suggestions don't get attention so hopefully this will.

Don J. passed the 3-part SEE and asked what else he needed to do to get the "Master Tax Advisor" designation.  The answer: he needs to pass the four "Representation" WBTs. (It makes sense to take these WBTs before taking SEE3 because the materials would help you in SEE3.  However, as Don J. demonstrated, you can pass SEE3 without taking these 4 WBTs.)

Side note: It's so much better if you take all the WBTs on the attached list.  Why settle for "meeting the requirements"?  There is nothing wrong with "exceeding expectations," right?

Where's the FREE Money?  Your commission per return will be much higher if you get the MTA designation than what it would be as STA5 or Tax Associate, etc.  H&R Block is giving away free money....grab the opportunity.

Have a great day!

After passing the SEE Exam, I went ahead and completed and passed all of the courses that you listed for Master Tax Advisor. Now, I'm just awaiting the approval of my application for Enrolled Agent and the license in the mail.
