Child Labour in India
Millions of children in today's world undergo the worst forms of child
labor which includes Child Slavery, Child prostitution, Child
Trafficking, Child Soldiers. In modern era of material and
technological advancement, children in almost every country are being
callously exploited.
Problem of Child Abuse
Despite of welfare programmes, legislation and administrative action
in the past decades a large majority of the Indian children continue
to remain in distress and turmoil. Though this problem of emotional,
physical and sexual abuse of children in India is increasing, it has
failed to capture the attention of the officials and public .They are
yet to recognize it as a serious problem.
Drug Abuse in India
It is an exercise undertaken by the world community to sensitize the
people in general and the youth in particular, to the menace of drugs.
The picture is grim if the world statistics on the drugs scenario is
taken into account.
Girl Education
To correct the male-female sex-ratio and limit the family size the
Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has come
up with a novel scheme of providing free ships and scholarships to all
girls from single child families up to the post-graduate level.
Literacy in India
Literacy is an effective instrument for social and economic
development and national integration. It is defined in Census
operations, as the ability to read and write with understanding in any
language. Any formal education or minimum educational standard is not
necessary to be considered literate.
Female Infanticide in India
Five million girls were eliminated between 1986 and 2001 because of
foetal sex determination done by unethical medical professionals. The
rate of extermination continues to increase after census 2001.Sex
determination and sex selective abortion was traced.
AIDS
The Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome is caused by a virus called
HIV (Human Immune Deficiency Virus). It is a condition in which the
built in defense system of the body breaks down completely. This
phenomenon is gradual but ultimately leads to total depletion of a
very important cell component of the immune mechanism. Thus those who
are affected are unable to combat with common diseases including even
mild infections since his/her immunity is knocked out and body
resistance is reduced.
