Reminder to submit your collection development suggestions for enki; lots of great input so far.
In related news, Califa is also working on a grant to make SimplyE, a cross-platform ereader and discovery app available to California libraries. SimplyE will allow your patrons to search, browse, checkout and read ebooks from MULTIPLE EBOOK VENDORS using a SINGLE APP. Vendors currently included:
· Overdrive
· Cloud Library
· Enki Library
· Axis 360
· OneClickdigital
We expect SimplyE will help ebook circulation because patrons will not be trapped in a single vendor silo – i.e. a single vendor app – and will be able to see and access most of the ebooks your library purchases, regardless of the platform/vendor from whom they are purchased.
Califa is piloting this service with Alameda County Library and we are interested to hear from other public libraries who would like to be part of this project. For more info on SimplyE (formerly Library Simplified), see http://www.librarysimplified.org/. SimplyE was developed by New York Public Library with help from IMLS grant funding. Future development will include the addition of more ebook vendors (e.g. Hoopla).
Contact Paula MacKinnon at pmack...@califa.org if you are interested in being part of the SimplyE project.

Subject: Collection Development survey - enki library
The State Library and the California Library Services Board have designated $200,000 in one-time FY 2016/17 CLSA funds to boost statewide availability of ebooks by adding $200,000 in new content to enki library. To guide the selection, we are circulating a Collection Development survey to gather input on the kinds of new materials current subscribers would like to see curated. Please take few minutes to submit your thoughts at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/enki-collection
You are invited to share the link with collection development selectors and ebook specialists at your library. I look forward to the info and will share when completed.
The survey will remain open through April 21, 2017. Thanks in advance! -Paula
