Dynamic Defaults and Prepopulating response using Last Saved

Hello,

I have a form with an integer question which is an ID#. Users will be submitting many forms as each form is an inspection of a tree with this ID#. The ID#s are in consecutive order so that users would typically be inspecting tree IDs in order starting from a certain number. Would it be possible for the user to fill in that tree ID the first time filling out the form, then have all the next forms prepopulate that question with the next consecutive ID#? (Example: first form ID# user inputs 5, second form would prepopulate ID# as 6, 3rd form would prepopulate as 7, etc.)

So far this is what I've found:

but it doesn't seem to be working in my offline Enketo form. Is this possible? I've used other dynamic defaults in the past but haven't used pulled data yet.

Hi Tyler,

The last-saved feature was added in version 2.8.0 (see https://github.com/enketo/enketo-express/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md). Are you using an older version perhaps? 

Also, you may want to see if your form works in ODK Collect if you haven't done that already. That's a good way of ruling out issues in the form itself in such a case as this.
