The default data type for get column names is a list of columns (of column data type). When you add the string argument you get a list of column names as strings. You were trying to compare a column data type to a string.

I am writing my data to an Oracle ODBC and running a Post-SQL command and am stumped by the errors I'm getting for it. I initially set the Output Option to be "Overwrite Table (Drop)", but that was giving me a "Unable to prepare the Create Table Statement...Error: ORA-00955: name is already used by an existing object" message. This confounded me, since I was just trying to overwrite the table rather than create a new one. Other Community users suggested adding a "DROP TABLE" command in the Pre Create SQL Statement, which is what I've done in my current configuration:

How can it be that I am simultaneously getting a "table or view does not exist" error AND a "name is already used by an existing object" error? And why does it keep trying to create a table when I have set it to overwrite it?

Interesting. Is it possible that you're referring to the same database table twice in the same workflow, i.e. that the workflow inadvertently does this twice? Then it gets a conflict when either trying to create or select?

I don't think so, because this output tool (which is at the very end of my workflow) is the only instance where this table is mentioned. Additionally, I find it interesting that that the error for the Post SQL comes before the error for creating the table. I wonder if that means anything?

I am connecting to a different database (Teradata) and am running a select query and based on the fact that the table does not exist am using the CREATE NEW TABLE option in the Output Data followed by a Post Create SQL Statement to GRANT permission to required users on the said data. The connection type is a 64 bit ODBC with the table name specified during the database connection selection. It still gives me the error on the GRANT statement. When I checked whether the table was created, it did get created. I dropped that table and reran the workflow with the same results. Is it something to do with TRANSACTIONs and the way they are committed?

My coworker emailed me her son's character's name (he's level 4 at the moment, free to play). I want to mail him some pets, toys, exp boosts etc, but before I send the mail wanted to check the name was correct.

I tried to add his character to my friendslist on a republic character (he's republic and on my server), but it says that the character does not exist. Is this true and I have been given an incorrect spelling of the name, or does it just mean he's offline and it's ok to mail out the items? I don't want them to get lost in the nether.

I recently modified all of my screens to use a different data source (moving from a test SharePoint site to a prod SharePoint site) which between the two have different field names. I modified all formulas and data cards and resolved all syntax errors and warnings within Power Apps Studio to correctly rename the fields. When I run the app in test mode in Studio there are no errors. When I publish then run my app I get an error message that two columns do not exist or do not support the lookup function.

The columns the error message is referencing are old column names from the old data source. I've deleted the old data source and verified none of the formulas or data cards reference the old column names, yet I still receive the error "The column [column name] does not exist or does not support the lookup function". Even more strange, is that the app "works fine" meaning all queries return the expected data and I can edit, delete and update records.

Another issue I had with content types when swapping from test to production is: Adding the content type to a new list, doesnt always add all the columns. I needed to go to the list and add one or two. This could be the issue, they dont exist.

So far we do not recommend to reuse an app directly by deleting and re-adding the data source. This will cause the error. Usually we need to create the whole app if data source is changed. I found an idea submitted here and the status is planned:

I resolved the issue by following your steps: for the "offending columns" (that generated the "does not support the lookup function" error) I deleted the custom data card and then added a new data card using the default field values for the fields/columns in question. I no longer receive the errors.

Now, at the editor screen the test is ok, but when I try to use it in my APP there is a notify that says that the table I deleted do not exist anymore. I tryed to delete the powerapps app from my mobile but doesnt work.
