Radio School:

The people who do cryptography are trained and know what to expect.
This message uses a modified version of US Navy message format. Here
is an example that shows the format of my message:

APR 01 0500Z    ;The Z means UTC or GMT. I chose not to use a year.
FM MOM
TO JEFFREY
BT
MAKE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR UNDERPANTS EVERY DAY
BT

Maybe that is a bad example. We are just having fun eh?

I chose to use the Nr. 2744 Luftwaffen key list simply because it was
the only one that I could easily read. Even though I use the M3 (NAVY)
modell, this key list works fine. There are many extra columns that
just don't apply. Use the rotor, ring and patch panel settings.
(Walzenlage, Ringstellung und Steckerbrett). I have not changed the
reflector settings. It remains Reflector B. You will find the
kenngruppen in my message.

I love how some keylists are printed with Gutenberg Bible typeface!

The Encrypted Message:

XEHXI YIBJH VKQTO ZBXVL OEHQB DYSOB KKUTM IPPET MAVKL

I will post a detailed explanation for decoding in separate post.

Very cool!  thank you very much for sharing this.  I'm having a hard time finding test messages to try out.  Using real German messages just adds way too much complexity for me at this point lol

Just figuring out the word breaks (in English!), assuming I correctly decrypted the message, is a major challenge for me!

If anyone knows of some sites that have test messages I'd love to hear of them!

Thanks,
Ron
