Dear ZIPANG friend

We wish you all the best for 2019 and draw your attention to two January events featuring Mesopotamian stories.

The Zipang afternoon of stories from the library of King Ashurbanipal at the British Museum on Saturday 12th January is fully booked. If you have a ticket please arrive at the museum by 2.30pm. You will need time to go through the security queue and downstairs from the Great Court to the Clore Education Centre before the storytelling begins at 3pm in the BP Lecture theatre.

Seats are available on Monday 14th January for the first of the public lecture series entitled Gods of Old: the Mythology of Ancient Iraq. These free lectures are convened by Professor Andrew George and he will give the first lecture, introducing the mythology of ancient Iraq. The lecture is at SOAS in the Senate House North Block, Room 110 Alumni Lecture Theatre. It begins at 6.15pm

Hapy New Year!

The ZIPANG team
