W&C Final Project Guidelines

Hey guys!

Met up with Ruhanie today, she gave the criteria of marking to send all of you. She also mentioned some other points to keep in mind. She knows most of us are planning to use "memory entrepreneur" as our point of departure and asked NOT to use it as the only point, in other words she wants us to find other areas in Jelin we could use, (and pretty much said she is a bit fed-up of hearing "memory entrepreneurs" and threatened me with reduced marks!!! :D :D ) So just keep that in mind and use some more of Jelin and also anything else relevant from the other texts we studied. Guess she said as much the other day. Also when writing the essay, she asked us NOT to put headings like analysis, data, etc but to use "creative" titles if we want.

Marking Criteria

40% for,

Research: Define a research issue; adopt and explain suitable methodology and theoretical perspectives; setting out of thesis, conceptual framework, scope of paper and context

Subject knowledge: Understanding and application of subject knowledge and underlying principles

Analysis: Examination and interpretation of material

Experimentation: Originality in the development of individual critical points of departure and adopted critical approach

20% for,

Structure, Presentation and Style: Organizing of thoughts and material/ argument integrated with relevant supporting material (primary and secondary reading material and/ or fieldwork); awareness and adoption of appropriate scholarly writing conventions (acknowledging of sources using consistent referencing and producing a bibliography); accuracy in the mechanics of writing (grammar and spelling)
