初中英语(牛津深圳版)7A Chapter 3 Reading Part 说课稿
富源学校 杨志琼
Good afternoon, everyone! I’m No.23. Today, I’ll say something about
Chapter 3 Troubles Reading Part in 7A of Oxford English.
Analysis the teaching materials and students
Background on the reformation of curriculum, this book can connect
the life and act, emphasize the interest and experiences of the
students, the pictures are active and vivid. Grade seven is the middle
stage of English learning, the students already have certain abilities
of learning English, so the students have great interest in English.
And they are tired of simlple repeating.
The content of this lesson is to use the Simple Past Tense to write a
diary. The topic is about dealing with troubles. It is closed to
students’ life, so it’s easy for students to understand and
interesting for students to learn.. And according to the contents and
the facts of the students, I establish the following three teaching
aims of this period:
The first one: (language aims)
Students can listen, read, say and write the following expressions:
a) Two women and a man began arguing.
b) I found my purse missing.
c) Let’s take the next ferry.
d) When we got off, we saw six policemen standing round the man.
The second one: (ability aims)
a) Teaching students to apply the following basic reading strategies:
scanning, skimming, predict the general idea according to title and
topic sentences, and the key facts of the target reading material.
b) Asking students to have some extension activities: ask and answer
exercises and true or false exercises.
The third one : (emotional aims)
Teaching students to try to help other people who are in trouble. Pay
attention to use a right way and not put ourselves in danger.
Teaching ways
I think the most difficult point of this period is to make sure the
students can understand the diary and develop their reading abilities.
And I will use some simple pictures, a tape recorder and the slide
show to help me achieve the aims. The task-based Learning, Situational
Language Teaching, New "five-step" Teaching, Communicated Method,
Group Cooperate Method will be used in this period.
Teaching special features:
Let the students communicate with each other and adopt competition
methods to develop the students’ keen interest in English.
Studying ways
About studying ways, I will help them learn from the followings:
1.Teach the students how to be successful language learners.
2.Let the students pass "Observation—Imitation—Practice " to study
language.
3.Teach the students how to master the diary and how to communicate
with others.
4. Teach the students how to cooperate with others to learn in groups.
Teaching steps
To accomplish the aims, I design the following steps:
Step 1 Sing an English song and arouse the emotion.
In order to attract the students’ attention and construct an
atmosphere of learning English, I let the students sing an English
song and clap their hands.
Step 2 Change class to life, happy to say.
The substance of language is communication and the environment of
communication is life. So
before I present the diary, I first provide different situations and
communite with students by greeting
and asking them questions , such as “How do you often go to school? ”
“Where did you go on
National Day?”“ How did you go there?”“ Do you often take…?” “What
number do you dial to
call…?”
After I give a model, let students practice in pairs or groups . I
also choose some students to act and have a match between them. In
this way I can attract students’ attention, encourage students to ask
and answer questions .
After talking about the urgent numbers, I design a task for Ss to
talk about what we should do when other people are in trouble and how
to help them. Its usage is to achieve the emotional aims.
Next I present the pictures, the title and the introductions of the
diary. Let the students guess the meaning of the diary and give them a
task: answer my questions. This step is in order to develop students’
observition and scanning abilities.
Step 3 Listen to the tape and students imitate to read and say.
In this step , whatever students do , they always have a task to
answer the
questions. Before students listen and read the diary, I introduce the
main
ideas of the diary to students by using simple pictures and write the
important
words. And then students answer the questions. Students are very
interested
in the simple pictures. In this way, students not only know the main
ideas, but
also develop their listening abilities.
As the new reformation of curriculum, emphasized the traditional class
attach importance to the mechanical teaching, neglect the experience
and participation. So in this lesson, after presentation, I ask Ss to
listen to the tape with two questions, read in different roles and in
groups. In this step ,the students must imitate the voice and
intonation, and they must also understand the meaning of the diary.
Step 4 Students must be the main body, teacher makes a guider.
In class, students play as a host, and the teacher makes an influence
on
guiding, helps students to act the learnt diary, it can stress the
position of
the students and arouse their interest.
There are lots of ways to consolidate the new knowledge. Acting is a
good way. So according to the physiology of students , I hold a
competition during the show. Ask students to finish the blanks and
then act the diary according the exercises. In this way I can develop
students’ good habits and achieve the aim of mastering the learned
knowledge in situation.
Step 5 Change class to life, learn by themselves.
Is this the end of the class? I don’t think so. If there is an end,
I think it should be in the life. So I extend this class, encourage
students to use the learned knowledge to communicate with each other
in their life.
In a word, the whole period is based on tasks, which are designed
from easy steps to steps that are challenging. When the students are
carting out the tasks, they can acquire information, knowledge, and
have their abilities and skills trained.
Learning lauguages must observe these principles: learning in
situations. So I’m always trying to provide a true situation for the
students. Let the languages input and output be more interesting.
That’s all. Thanks a lot for your attention.
