Direct Approach

 Once a particular person came to know about Baba and developed a great desire to be with Him. He was told by a devotee that he would first have to be initiated. He asked for initiation. Then he was told that the request would have to be submitted to Baba in Jamalpur, and that sometimes Baba did not agree to give initiation. The person became very upset, and said that he was only interested in meeting Baba so why were there all these obstacles; why could he not just go to Baba’s house and meet Him? His devotee friend sternly told him not to disturb Baba like this.

Later when that devotee friend went to see Baba, Baba told him, “You know, one boy has made a direct approach.” The devotee became very upset thinking that his friend had gone to see Baba. So he went and asked his friend what he had done. The friend laughed and said that he had told Baba mentally that he did not understand all the formalities, he just wanted to have His darshan at all costs. That was his direct approach - simple surrender.
