Someone should start a topic on the second soliloquy in scene 5. That one really shows just how far Lady Macbeth is willing to go to become queen.
And don't forget that you need to look at Macbeth's speech in 1.7 and post before class in Monday.
I agree with Eli. Lady Macbeth is a very scary woman because she wants Macbeth to kill Duncan and crown himself. She has split character. From her soliloquy, we can find her evil and ruthless side, “And fill me from the crown to the toe topfull of direst cruelty” (Line 38-41, Scene 5). She would do anything in order to get the power and to be the queen. However, when she meets Macbeth, she acts like a normal wife. And in the next scene, when she meets Duncan, she pretends to welcome him with open arm, "your majesty loads our house" (Line 19, Scene 6). She wants to control Macbeth's thoughts and threatens him to the wicked things.
