Why does Macbeth mention the bell ring, and what does it relate to?

The bell is a funeral bell, because macbeth calls it a knell and i searched up knell and it is a funeral bell. The reason cannot here the bell is because he is going to be dead by the time it rings. It will be for his (duncans) funeral.

As Macbeth says that “the bell invites me. / hear it not, Duncan for it is a knell/ that summons thee to heaven or hell” (2.1.62-64). Macbeth has made his decision of killing Duncan, on one hand the bell is like a battle drum which encourages Macbeth of killing the king, on the other hand it is also a knell which shows that Duncan is going to die.
