Go to the following link, read, and take notes

http://internettutorials.net/boolean.asp

You are going to practice and write about your research process.

Read these instructions all the way through before proceeding. You
will be posting
everything you do for this activity in this discussion and saving all
of the research you
found in your research folder on your flash drive.

1. Start with a general Google search, and use your keywords in the
advanced search
options.
2. From that search, find a source that you can use to find new
keywords. Remember that
keywords can be names, concepts, phrases. Think about the examples I
presented.
3. Use those keywords in an advanced Scholar search.
4. In Scholar, find a source that you can use not only for your own
writing, but also one
that will give you more keywords.
5. Use those keywords at PRIMO
6. Find a source from PRIMO.
7. Find another source using PRIMO’s advanced search options.
8. At some point during this activity, you need to find TWO academic
journals (online
only or print/online) related to your topic. I don’t care where or how
you find them, but I

do care that they are legitimate academic journals.
9. Provide a correct APA style bibliographic entry for each source
10. Post EVERYTHING you've done in this discussion, from Steps 1 – 9.
This means
I want the keywords, the names of the sources, what you used in
advanced search, the
names of any databases you chose, subjects, dates, etc. I want
EVERYTHING.

Initial key words: fast food advertising
Title of webpage under that was “Fast Foods: Ad vs. Reality”
Then I searched: Fast Food Ad OR Reality
Then changed to: Ads NOT reality AND fast food
Which led me to: “The Fast Food Trap: How Commercialism Creates
Overweight Children”
This gave me new key words such as: fast food trap, commercialism,
overweight, commercial messages, fat, McDonalds
Then I went to the Health & Wellness Resource Center (Primo database)
and plugged in some of the above key words.
I used “fast food trap” as key words and found the source: “Avoiding
the fast food trap.(DIET)”
Then I used ads, fast, and food in the advanced search and found:
“Teens see more food ads.(POLICY & PRACTICE)”

Avoiding the Fast Food Trap article:

and Wellness Resource Center. Momentum. p34(2).

1.) Stats of teen pregnancy;
2.) After looking at the articles they were from 2009 so I narrowed my
search by adding 2011 to get updated articles
3.) Teen pregnancy 2011
4.) http://png.publisher.ingentaconnect.com/content/png/ajhb ; It
didn’t really help to add 2011 in the keywords for this search, but
this led me to teen pregnancy prevention
5.) Teen Pregnancy prevention
6.) Couldn’t find anything worth using in primo; the articles didn’t
make sense and I would rather use another source.
7.) I used the keywords teen pregnancy 2011. The Mirror 43% of
teenagers not using condoms; sexual health concern grows. I used
Lexis Nexis
8.) I used the CDC as one of my sources because it clearly states what
is needed for my research and is a government site. Also used the
article from the mirror.
