Hey everyone,

There have recently been a few requests to join the Google Group and an employer requested that the LinkedIn account follow their firm's page. The social media account on LinkedIn has been the easiest way to gain followers/connections. Currently it has 130 connections to the account and 37 members in the LinkedIn group.

After I created the website and social media accounts last year there were some recruiters and employers that asked if they could post jobs to the website. Then some firms expressed interests in sponsoring events and paying for members to have Engineer Nashville apparel. At that time I was the only person attending our events, so I turned them down.

Back in December we had Climbing Night. There were some engineers there from ICT and my coworker from Catalyst. They were talking about how it would be great to start a competitive climbing league through Engineer Nashville.

I think this group has potential to be great, but Engineer Nashville will need volunteers to host events going forward. In January I moved to my hometown in Huntsville, Alabama. I'm going to start Engineer Huntsville this summer. If any of you are interested in hosting events then I can assist you with promoting them on the Engineer Nashville social media accounts and website. Maybe we can do some trips with the Engineer Huntsville group.

Just making the group for younger engineers was too restrictive and I think the group is better as being open to anyone in or associated with the engineering industry more so than the profession (older colleagues, CAD techs, landscape architects, administrative personnel, etc.). The group is for making friends and creating a community within our industry, so all are welcome to have fun at our events. Appreciate your interests, and hope some of you will want to pick up where I left off.

Feel free to email, call or text me if you have any questions or want to discuss anything.

Thank you,

Maxwell R. Carter, PE
