Canvas - Numbas Integration

Hello everyone!  

Excited to adapt this book to my statics course.  Our university uses Canvas for our LMS.  Does anyone have how to recommendations for how to integrate the Numbas problem sets with Canvas?  

I have a relatively large section so the autograding and randomly generated numbers would be a great help.

Hi Rachel,

We use Blackboard at my institution, so I can’t speak directly about Canvas, but here are some links that should help.

The questions are created using Numbas:  https://www.numbas.org.uk/ and the Statics questions repository is here: https://numbas.mathcentre.ac.uk/project/3501/  

The individual problems are organized in the Basic and Advanced folders, and the Engineering Statics Chapter Exercises are in the eponymous folder.  

If you set up your own Numbas account, you can reorganize the questions into your own homework sets, as I have done in for my own class in the Homework Sets folder, and if you get ambitious you can write your own problems and I will add them to the repository!

The instructions for delivering questions to students is here:  https://docs.numbas.org.uk/en/latest/tutorials/deliver-to-students.html  Google says that Canvas is a SCORM 2004-compatible VLE so hopefully this won’t be too difficult for you.
