Hi,

I found your book a few days ago and I'm excited to start using it.  I thought that I would have this semester to adapt my course materials while using my prior text.  However, I just found out that my bookstore has still not ordered the book I had planned to use and my course starts in 4 days.

Has anyone done a mapping of comparing the order of topics in Hibbeler's Engineering Mechanics: Statics book to the Engineering Statics: Open and Interactive?  If so, I would really appreciate a copy to help me adapt my lecture notes and homework assignments to the new topic order.  I've been struggling with adapting my chapter 2 material.

Thanks,

Hi Sue,
The attached table should get you close! Hibbeler was the first book I taught Statics from, so the order and approach have strong similarities. The main departure is that I believe Hibbeler presents centroids too late in the book, so we moved that topic up before students do anything with distributed loads.

Hi Sue,

Glad that you found our book in time!

I want to point out that there is info here https://engineeringstatics.org/preface.html about how to add the chapter exercises as assignments in your LMS, or options if that's not possible.   If you want to try this and have any questions, post them here and I will try to help.

I hope your semester goes well.

Thank you to both of you.  Your responses are a big help.
