Hey guys,

Just kicking off the discussion as to what it is we need to
contribute to section four of the proposal. This is where we put down
all of the considerations we have come across or made in the process
of studying the feasibility of this project. The outline of section
four is as follows:

4.0 Project Considerations:
4.1 Resource Analysis: show that adequate resources (tools, lab
etc. are available
4.2 Economic Analysis: Cost estimate - Generate a budget sheet
(5.0), unit cost/1000.
4.3 Safety Consideration: Indicate safety procedures used in
design, development and operation.
4.4 Reliability, Maintainability and Testability Analysis: Failure
modes, test points etc.
4.5 Aesthetic, Ethical and Social Impact: Patent infringements?
How will it benefit society?

Here are some of my considerations I remember or have come up with to
each of the following topics:

Resources:
1. Center for Systems Integration (CSI) Lab (SE417)
2. Open source Android software development kit (SDK).
3. Ten Android Dev Phone 1s on loan from CSI.
4. Electronics Lab (SE350) for testing and custom hardware peripherals
if necessary.
5. Any other resources you think will be beneficial to our project's
completion.

Economics:
1. Information from budget slide of presentation.
2. Unit cost based on cost of hardware and time put into it then
divide that figure by 1000? What do you guys think?

Safety:
1. Ensure that phone is strapped to user in upright position for
proper operation.

Reliability, Maintainability, and Testability:
1. Use of SDK software emulator and physical development devices for
debugging and testing.
2. How well devices can transfer information in a timely manner.
3. Reliabiltiy of Wi-Fi ad hoc networking as a means of tracking user
locations.
4. Reliability of pedometry as a means of tracking user locations.
5. Reliability of rate of information transfer among ad hoc nodes.
6. Possibility of overloading node utilization.

Aesthetics, Ethical and Social Impact:
1. Possibility of patent infringement of pedometry tracking
implementation.
2. Possibility of patent infringement of 3-D mapping.
3. Benefit society with fewer first responder casualties.
4. Benefit from possibility of improved search and rescue.

These are what I have considered so far. Please, provide some input
whenever possible. I would like to have all of us meet on Friday like
around 9AM at SE 417 and spend the day hammering out this proposal.

Just in case it isnt written anywhere. I was thinkin we could use
triangulation between the nodes and the base station. Since base
station is constantly stationary, and assuming the company of fighters
is the standard 5 to 6, we can use tw\o other nodes to triangulate a
node. I believe that a way we can use the ad-hoc to our advantage.

Up loaded updated paragraphs to background info, will source cites
when i wake up.

Things to also include as far as implementation, the PASS system
feature of using an audible sound should be kept with the google
phone. In case it wasn't clarified as far as features with our idea.
Sound can be used to locate people incase they can't see the screen.
