Training Manual on Engaging Men and Boys in gender & Masculinities

Sharing the manual "Outside the Box ll New Training Manual on Gender & Masculinities‎", prepared by  ABAAD MENA and UN Women ROAS produced  which is sure to be of interest to you all in engaging men and boys.

"This manual is a compilation of the series of activities, exercises and hand-outs on masculinities which were used by ABAAD masculinities trainings for partner NGOs in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunis, and Yemen. This manual consolidates the experiences and skills that have been accumulated during previous trainings into a tool that carries all the required information for a skilled trainer to provide trainings on Masculinities and Engaging Men. Furthermore, this is the first culturally-validated manual on Masculinities and Engaging Men in the MENA region designed to promote sustainability of the Engaging Men mission in the MENA region, and to provide culturally appropriate training modules on the issue. The training programme is designed in such a way that its impact can be easily assessed. Trainers/facilitators are invited to become learning partners who can assist in the process of delivering, evaluating, and fine-tuning the programme."

View this email in your browser download English version here                                  download Arabic version here هذا الدليل هو حصيلة سلسلة من النشاطات والتمارين والنشرات حول موضوع الرجوليات الإيجابية التي تم استخدامها في ورشات تدريب حول إشراك الرجال في برامج مناهضة العنف والتمييز ضد النساء والفتيات من قبل منّظمة أبعاد، شارك بها مجموعة من الناشطين\ات في المنظمات غير الحكومية من كل من مصر والعراق والأردن، ولبنان وليبيا والمغرب وفلسطين، وسوريا والأردن واليمن.  تكمن أهمية هذا الدليل في كونه يجمع كافة الخبرات والمهارات التي تراكمت خلال برامج التدريب السابقة، ليضعها في دليل مرجعي يقدم كافة المعلومات اللازمة التي تمّكن المدربين/ات ذوي/ات المهارة من تطبيقه وإدارة برامج تدريبية حول مفاهيم الرجوليات الإيجابية وإشراك الرجال.  بالإضافة إلى ذلك، يعد هذا الدليل الأول من نوعه من حيث كونه يحظى بالحساسية الثقافية ويعكس السياق القيمي والاجتماعي العام في المنطقة العربية، حيث تم تصميمه لإدماج مقاربة إشراك الرجال وتعزيز استدامتها في المنطقة العربية بصورة محدّدة، ولتقديم أدلة تدريبية ملائمة حول هذه القضايا. صُمّم هذا الدليل التدريبي بحيث يمكن تقييم أثره بفعالية. وهو بذلك يدعو المدربين/ات والميسرين/ات ليصبحوا/ليصبحن شركاء في السياق التدريبي والمساهمة في عملية إيصال المفاهيم المنطوية عليه وتقييمه وضبطه.     This manual is a compilation of the series of activities, exercises and hand-outs on masculinities which were used by ABAAD masculinities trainings for partner NGOs in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunis, and Yemen.
