Content-Based Language Teaching: Implications for ESL in India
23 February - 25 February 2023
Traversing beyond the basic fluent use of English for everyday communicative purposes, largely aimed by the CLT models, we attempt to explore further steps towards a more accurate and proficient use of English in cognitively challenging situations, through suitably integrating content into the teaching of English. The focus on content that is relevant to the learner makes language learning more purposeful and contextual, which serves the dual purpose of ensuring more knowledge in the content area, while also considerably enhancing linguistic accuracy and proficiency. We invite papers that address thinking and research on Content Based Instruction and related areas such as:
l Content-Based Instruction
l Task-Based Language Teaching
l Collaborative Learning
l English for Specific Purposes
l Content and Language Integrated Learning
l English for Academic Purposes
l Instructional Design
l Coursebook design
l Second Language Curriculum Development
l Teacher Training
l Teaching English through Technology
l Flipped Classrooms
l Blended Learning
l Immersion Programmes
l Teaching Language through Literature
l Continuous Professional Development
