No Registration Fee: workshop - AI literacy in Education

Kimberly Pace Becker, Ph.D.  And Pat Leomi, MPH will be speaking during this session. 

Kimberly will conduct a workshop introducing a framework for AI literacy in education, adapting Stuart Selber's multiliteracies model to AI's unique characteristics through a constructivist lens. Participants will explore how AI resembles and differs from traditional educational technologies and learn about functional, critical, and rhetorical AI literacy and its applications to common workflows. Participants will be invited to ask questions.

Pat will walk through a real-world example of how to develop lesson plans using Perplexity and ChatGPT. In this session, learners will gain a cursory overview of how to retrieve existing syllabi using Perplexity and then walk through the steps of creating a syllabi, modules, and weekly lesson plans. The final product will be a PPT outline with a script.
