Sponsor: Rep Doyle, Michael F. [PA-14] (introduced 4/2/2009)

H.CON.RES.96
Title: Recognizing the importance of autism awareness, supporting
efforts to increase funding for research into the causes and treatment
of autism and to improve training and support for individuals with
autism and those who care for individuals with autism.

Status: Referred to the Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary,
and Secondary Education.

a) I like this bill mainly because it's supporting a good cause.Autism
is a special needs condition that is becoming so commo and by them
passing this bill It's making more people knowledgeable and aware by
suitable providing more training and support to people that have this
condition or that care for someone with Autism. Its federal funding is
increasing for the future. The government is commiting to provide
states with 40% of the cost to provide education for children with
this disabilities. It's a new beginning for this children and their
families.

b) I did not like the fact that the government is only willing to
provide the states with just 40% of the costs. Most of this families
are low income. They should diffenetly focus on giving more money to
this cause.

c) I would like to go more into detail on what states are this funds
going too.

Sen. Feinstein, Dianne. 2009 January, 6. S. 132 A bill to increase and
enhance law enforcement resources committed to investigation and
prosecution of violent gangs, to deter and punish violent gang crime,
to protect law-abiding citizens and communities from violent
criminals, to revise and enhance criminal penalties for violent crimes
to expand and improve gang prevention programs, and for other
purposes. U.S Senate

a.) I liked that the bill asked for longer sentences for those charged
with violent crimes. Maybe people would be discouraged from doing so
or at least they would be off the streets for a longer time.

b.) There really wasn't anything that I didn't like about the site. It
was very detailed. Not only did they want to increase jail time for
offenders but, the bill also includes prevention of the problem. I
really liked that.

c.) Some of the acts that were discussed I didn't know about. I think
I would understand all parts of the bill better if I did some more
research about the existing acts.

Dick Durbin's The Fair Elections Now Act 2009 has sought to reform the
financing of House elections and to create a healty election system
for the U.S. The bill would limit the amount of private funds that
federal candidates could rise, and prevent political influence of the
large contributions, big money bundlers, or donations from lobbyists.
Also, it would allow politicians to focus on ordinary people needs not
special- interest groups. So it should be passed.
