Essay 2 Short Story
On a hot and dry summer day of July 15, two friends were getting ready
to go out. It hat been the hottest summer in decades in Los Angeles.
Tiffany and Mary had been best friend since the first day of
Kindergarten. They have grown together liking the same music, food
and share beautiful moments in their lives.
Soon, Tiffany will be turning 16 and in a couple of month she would
have the greatest sweet 16 party so she taught.
Tiffany and Mary were going to the shopping mall on a shopping spree.
As Tiffany dad had given her an unlimited credit card.
“Oh my good! Mary those shoes are so cute”, Tiffany exclaimed with
excitement.
“Tiffany you already have those shoes”, Mary said.
They went store by store Tiffany had no limits. She was felling the
queen of the world.
Mary said, “You must be really proud of your dad Tiffany, he is able
to give you all that you ask him for”.
In reply Tiffany exclaims, “Well I deserved it!”
Even thought Tiffany and Mary had been best friend for many years.
Mary and Tiffany had growth to different ideas of life. They were
both in wealthy families, they never had to face hunger nor the cold
of the streets.
Mary always tried to help persons in need. She should volunteer and
help when ever she was asked and never complain. She also saw the
problems with people over buying thing that they really didn’t need
it. Just like her friend Tiffany was doing.
“Hey Tiffany don’t you think you have enough”, Mary said as she
continued Tiffany did not put any attention toward what Mary was
telling her.
“Most of the stuff you have you don’t even use, you should use you
money in a better way”, Mary continue, “You can’t always rely on your
dad to give you everything”.
Tiffany was getting upset with Mary talking.
“Mary you know that my party is coming soon, please don’t spoiled it
with your nonsense of not wasting my money they way I do”, Tiffany
responded.
After a whole day in the mall they finally decided to go home.
Tiffany was carrying more that what she could.
As she walks into her house, she notices that her parents were engaged
in a force and roughly argument. Tiffany did not clearly hear what
her parents were arguing about.
Her parents immediately stop and walk away as if they were trying to
avoid Tiffany. She didn’t give it any importance and continue to her
room.
What Tiffany did not know was that her dad had lost a lot on money in
the stock market. They had gone from wealthy to humble. They were
trying to find the right time and way to let Tiffany know that they
were gone to cancel her party and that she had to return everything
that she has already spend.
Tiffany had no idea of what was going on she only care about her
self. She can only think about her party of how cool it was going to
be. The best party ever in town, little she could imagine that it
would never happen.
Finally, one day Tiffany parent had no other option to let her know
what was happening.
“Dear Tiffany we need to have a word with you”, her parent stated.
“Not right now I’m busy, could it wait until later”, she answers.
At the point her mother couldn’t take it anymore “Tiffany this it’s
very important get back here!” she scream.
She had no alternative but to sit and listen to what her parent had
to say. Her father pause trying to find the right words to let her
know what was happening. There were no right words he just told her
straight out.
“We can no longer afford your birthday party”, he said.
“What do you mean with we can no longer afford it?” she cried out.
Tiffany was hysterical, in shock she could not believe what her ears
were hearing.
“You hear right Tiffany there will be no birthday party and you will
have to return everything you have bought”, her mother added.
“This could not be happening to me”, Tiffany scream. It was hard for
her to accept her new reality.
Tiffany had everything she ever wanted. Never was something denied
to her. She has the possibilities to a high-quality future but lost
everything. Tiffany was only good for spending and buying things that
she did not need it. She thought she could keep her way of style of
spending.
There has to be more to life that to spend without limits.
