Rabil is a professor of political science at Florida Atlantic University. He is the author of highly commended peer-reviewed articles and books, including: Embattled Neighbors: Syria, Israel and Lebanon (2003); Syria, the United States and the War on Terror in the Middle East (2006); Religion, National Identity and Confessional Politics in Lebanon (2011); Salafism in Lebanon: From Apoliticism to Transnational Jihadism (2014); The Syrian Refugee Crisis in Lebanon: The Double Tragedy of Refugees and Impacted Host Communities (2016); and White Heart (2018). He served as the Red Cross’s Chief of Emergency in Baabda region, Beirut, during Lebanon’s civil war. He was the project manager of the Iraq Research and Documentation Project, a project funded by the U.S. State Department. He was awarded the LLS Distinguished Faculty Award and the LLS Distinguished Professor of Current Affairs. He was also awarded an honorary Ph.D. in Humanities from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. السيرة الذاتية:البروفيسور. روبرت ج  رأبيل، هو أستاذ للعلوم السياسية ، في جامعة فلوريدا أتلانتيك. هو مؤلف مقالات وكتب، لاقت مؤلفاته الكثر من المدح والثناء بعد مراجعتها، منها: الجيران المحاصرون: سوريا، إسرائيل ولبنان – بالإنجليزية (٢٠٠٣)، سوريا: الولايات المتحدة والحرب على الإرهاب في الشرق الأوسط – بالإنجليزية (٢٠٠٦؛ الدين والهوية الوطنية والسياسة الطائفية في لبنان (2011)؛ السلفية في لبنان: من اللاسياسة إلى الجهاد العابر للحدود (2014)؛ أزمة اللاجئين السوريين في لبنان: المأساة المزدوجة للاجئين والمجتمعات المضيفة المتأثرة (2016)؛ والقلب الأبيض (2018). شغل منصب رئيس الطوارئ في الصليب الأحمر في منطقة بعبدا، بيروت، خلال الحرب الأهلية اللبنانية. كان مدير مشروع العراق للبحوث والتوثيق، وهو مشروع ممول من وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية. حصل على جائزة LLS لأعضاء هيئة التدريس المتميزين
