A public meeting to discuss updates to the Maighne Wind Farm planning application for 47 turbines of up to 168m height will be held on Thursday 19th November, 8:00pm - 9:15pm at the Hamlet Hotel, Johnstownbridge.

Members of the public impacted by the proposals have until 5:15pm, Wednesday 25th November to lodge observations/objections in response to additional information submitted to An Bord Pleanála. People who made full submissions at the first stage of the planning process will not be subject to another €50 fee.

A planning report is being prepared on behalf of communities in the Donadea and Drehid areas by David Mulcahy Planning Consultants Limited. The advice will be informed by several specialist planning experts and will focus on Element Power's amendments to the proposed development and rebuttal of their additional claims.

While the meeting will focus on some issues specific to the Hortland and Drehid turbine clusters, some general information will also be available to communities impacted by other clusters in west County Kildare and south County Meath.

The meeting will also outline how the committee aim to help the public with delivering their submissions, their work until now and the likely next steps in the planning process.
