yes that is the solution! you need to have all four types of cars. since i didn't update it when i got it i was able to sell the only cars i had for that car category whihc you shoudnt be able to do. once i updated it a message will come saying you cant sell your only car for that category.

This is the same issue i also have. pressing r1 wont allow access to the mission. i had to restart the whole game. yet to reach that stage yet. lets see. i did update the game and that didnt fix it either.

I had the same issue on Xbox. The game doesn't make it entirely obvious, but here's what you have to do; You know how you can change your car when you drive up to an event in free roam? Do that on the graveyard shift rematch mission and the game will take you to your warehouse. Once you're in the warehouse, you have to choose 3 cars for that mission (Race, Off-Road and Runner). After you do that, the event will start.

for me when the garage opens for me to select the car there are no cars when clearly i had 3 cars with me. i had a runner. race and drift car. so when i pressed r1 to change the car it got stuck on a menu that that had no cars in it. ive restarted th game now. lets see what happens

When you start up a new game, select Easy. You're going to immediately be thrown into several races. These will introduce you to the characters, Tyler, Jess, and Mac, and how some missions you'll switch between cars during the race. Tyler drives Race and Drag cars, Jess drives Runner cars, and Mac drives Drift and Offroad cars. You'll be introduced to the police, who will often chase you during Runner missions. Escaping them really just means getting to the destination within the time limit. The cops can bust you if they manage to stop your car and prevent you from taking off again. If you do crash, the game gives you a reasonable amount of time to drive away before it will consider you 'busted' and you will need to restart. During that time after a crash, use your boost and either back away or drive forward as best as you can to escape their clutches. After you're introduced to the main plot, you'll receive the first achievement.

Now it's time to get the band back together. The start of this chapter is really your first opportunity in freeroam. You can't exactly do anything yet, you just get told to go to your next race. Open your map and select the race for a GPS route. You will see the bubble as animated on the map, indicating it's incomplete and is your next event. To start the race, you have to stop at the point indicated and hit .

At this point you can start really controlling what you do, so the first thing to look at is Daily Challenges. When you hit and scroll over to Challenges, you'll see a few challenges pop up. They change every day and can be anything, so pick which one seems easiest and do that. It can be anything from jump so many yards, to drive faster than a certain speed for so long, to beating autolog recommendations. If none of them seem easy, wait for another day, or just wait until you randomly unlock it through the course of the game. Otherwise pick one that you can do and when you've completed it, you'll unlock:

This is also where you're going to be able to pay more attention to Autolog recommendations. Each race has an additional 'Time to beat' score, which the game calls an Autolog Recommendation. This time or score can either be something your friend has set, or just a random score the game chooses. You don't have to beat this score each time, but you have to beat it once in one race for an achievement. This is one of those achievements where you'll unlock it probably on accident, so don't worry about it too much. The first time you beat the recommendation, you'll unlock:

The story in this game is structured largely around winning a set amount races before you can challenge the 'boss' of a club to a race, in which you'll want to win that too. Now that you're thrown into things, you're going to see races pop up in these street leagues. When you beat the first one, you'll unlock an achievement:

At this point, the general world has also opened up, which means the collectibles are all available and scattered around the world. You have three choices really when it comes to collectibles:

It is strongly recommended that if you have the time and the patience, you set aside some time to go out and find them all now before continuing the story, since overall it will help you more. When you find these collectibles you'll get money, which will give you a very nice stockpile of cash as you progress through the story, which will help you in purchasing speedcards or new cars to stay ahead of the difficulty curve. You will also get a general feel for the map, which will help you when the races take you to those general areas that you've already spent time in collecting things. You will also be able to discover all the gas stations and garages along the way, which will help you while you progress through the story as well. Doing them now or later is up to you, but if you decide to do them later, come back to this section of the walkthrough.

PascalMarc (SwissGameGuides) has created a fantastic interactive map which will help you with every collectible in the game, which can be found by clicking here. It is wonderful for keeping track of which collectible you've received.

There are several different types of collectibles, but the only ones you should really look at getting right now are Gambler's Chips and Billboards, as they don't require any upgraded cars available later in the game to get. You will eventually need to be getting all the Speedruns and Speedtraps, however you won't want to do that until after the game when you can actually complete them easier. There are 100 Gambler's Chips and 30 billboards scattered around the world. If you would rather watch a video and follow along, WarbyGaming has two videos that can help show you the locations and how to collect them:

As you go through and collect things, you'll find there are 4 garages. Garages will let you change your cars when bought, but they'll also allow you to fast travel, which can be handy for getting around easier. You need to buy all four of these for an achievement:

Udo is the boss you encounter as you progress through the 'League 73' league. These are largely offroad races, and after you've beaten the first three, you'll have a chance at taking down the boss, Udo. This is a two lap offroad race, and a fantastic race to get another achievement. In the first lap of the race, keep the race close, but let Udo be ahead of you so that you're in last place until you've gotten into the second lap of the race. After you start the second lap, you have a reasonably large amount of time to take the lead again and finish the race ahead of Udo. While you can do this achievement on other races, it's easier here since the race is only you and him, and the laps are long. When you complete the race after pulling ahead in the second lap, you'll get two achievements:

The other boss in chapter 2 is La Caterina of the 'Graveyard Shift' league. This time you need to advance through four races before you have access to challenging the boss. There's really nothing special about these races. If you mess up, just try again now that you know the route. Once you beat the race against La Catarina, you'll receive:

It's time for the conclusion to the chapter, and this is done in the form of an exclamation point race. This can be a bit challenging, and is largely going to test your ability at takedowns against other cars. Both times when it tells you to take out the house enforcers, you'll see black cars driving near you. You want to smash into these cars mainly on their sides to try and ram them into other objects and force them to crash. Or, you can just keep smashing into them again and again until they run out of health. When you see them crashing, usually in slow motion, you've done it right. All throughout, you need to make sure you keep up with the truck and don't let it escape. When you complete it, you'll get the next achievement:

This chapter is going to introduce you into two different racing types, Drag and Drift. Drift races are head to head matches putting you against another car in a round based system where you have to win either best 2 of 3, or 3 of 5. Drag races involve tracks that are typically straight and short, so your car will mostly be dedicated to acceleration and top speed over maneuverability and such. The race also involves manual shifting and timing. When the race starts, you're going to see a bar at the top of your screen. This bar will have a zone in it that's yellow, green, and red. When the race is starting there will be a countdown, and you will be able to rev your engine, and you will see a icon moving along the bar into the different ranges. You want that icon to be in the green range when the race officially starts. This icon tells you when the best time to shift is. To shift up use , and to shift down use . You want the icon to be in the green when you shift up during the race, and this will be a 'perfect shift'. If you shift while it's in the yellow, it's an early shift which is okay but not great, and while it's in the red, it's a late shift which is bad. Drag racing is largely going to take practice in getting good with the timing. The hardest part is in the beginning when you're accelerating quickly and need to shift quickly. Make sure you watch when you use your boost as well, as the icon will go up quicker as well.
