Dear all,

please find below some information regarding a campaign organized by
colleagues from the University of Bologna to support people interested
in applying for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship with them.
One of the research subject they are interested in is, among many
others, related to combining language learning and implicit crowdsourcing.

If you are interested or know somebody that might be, do get in touch
with them directly.

I wish you all a good day.
Best regards,

Lionel

Through the AlMarieCurie program, the Alma Mater Studiorum-Università di
Bologna (UniBO) is providing support for the preparation of applications
for the recently published EC Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral
Fellowship program (MSC) [1].

Within the Corpora, Linguistics, and Technology interdisciplinary
research centre (CoLiTec) [2], we are planning to support candidates in
the endeavor of preparing the application for a MSC Postdoctoral
Fellowship with us. We welcome motivated scholars interested in
empirical discourse analysis of online phenomena such as deception,
propaganda, hate speech, and disinformation. We particularly encourage
applications from scholars wishing to enrich their area of
work/expertise to methods from the fields of corpus linguistics,
computational linguistics and/or natural language processing.

We focus on the following fields:

Natural language processing
Corpora and corpus linguistics
Linguistics and Terminology
Corpus-assisted discourse analysis

Consider the following recent and ongoing research we have been carrying
out as an example of the work we are up to:

Ongoing research
- Identification, analysis, and prevention of misogyny online using NLP.
Fully-funded PhD project, starting in November 2021
- Combining language learning and implicit crowdsourcing to improve
Italian and South Tyrolean German Language Resources

CoLiTec is an interdisciplinary research Centre based at the Department
of Interpreting and Translation of UniBO, Forlì Campus. Its main focus
is on research into the integration of corpus linguistics techniques and
related technologies in discourse studies, translation and interpreting
studies, lexicology and terminology, and applied linguistics, with a
special emphasis on developing and refining research methodologies in
these fields. It aims to provide insight into the fundamental importance
of language study for understanding social, political and cultural
issues both within and across societies and communities globally.

UniBO is the oldest university in the western world, and is among the
top three Italian universities, according to the QS World University
Rankings [4]. Founded in 1088 and currently spread over five campuses
across Emilia Romagna, UNIBO is strongly rooted in its territory and at
the same time the most internationalised of all Italian universities. It
takes part in international networks among which: Utrecht Network,
Coimbra Group, The Guild, UNIMED, UNA Europa and Climate KIC, EIT
Digital and EIT Raw Material. In the period 2014-2019, UNIBO has
participated in 147 Erasmus+ projects and in 244 H2020 projects, plus 27
other EU-funded research projects (Interreg, Life, Creative Europe, COST).
