Dear developers and users,

I have a model in EnergyPlus and I'm exporting it to FMU to use as the example shown here http://simulationresearch.lbl.gov/fmu/EnergyPlus/export/index.html , connecting it to a PI controller in Dymola.

The model translation doesn't give any errors, however when I simulation the fmiInitializeSlave fails:

(...)

O1_1TZ_coupling_fmu: fmiInitializeSlave: Could not create the input and weather file. Initialization of O1_1TZ_coupling_fmu failed.

The following error was detected at time: 0

InitializeSlave failed

The stack of functions is:

O1_1TZ_coupling_fmu.fmi_Functions.fmiInitializeSlave

O1_1TZ_coupling_fmu.fmi_Functions.fmiInitializeSlave(

o1_1TZ_coupling_fmu.fmi,

o1_1TZ_coupling_fmu.fmi_StartTime,

o1_1TZ_coupling_fmu.fmi_forceShutDownAtStopTime,

o1_1TZ_coupling_fmu.fmi_StopTime,

o1_1TZ_coupling_fmu.fmi_AParamsAndStart+o1_1TZ_coupling_fmu.fmi_initInput0)

Error: Failed to start model.

O1_1TZ_coupling_fmu: fmiTerminateSlave: fmiFreeInstanceSlave must be called to free the FMU instance.

O1_1TZ_coupling_fmu: fmiFreeSlaveInstance: The function fmiFreeSlaveInstance of instance O1_1TZ_coupling_fmu is executed.

O1_1TZ_coupling_fmu: freeInstanceResources: O1_1TZ_coupling_fmu will be freed.

- The timesteps are the same, Dymola/FMU (600s), EnergyPlus(6),
- Store variables is Unchecked
- Coo-simulation is selected in Dymola (FMI-Import)

I'm using:
  • Dymola 2016
  • EnergyPlusV8-5-0
  • EnergyPlusToFMU-v2.0.1
I think that this versions are all compatible.

You can find find in annex the FMU package if you'd like to test.

Does somebody came across the same error that can help me? I would be very grateful for your help.

Best Regards,

Luís Carvalho

Luis,

Could you send the EnergyPlus error log which is produced in the EnergyPlus to FMU Output folder?

Thanks!

Thierry

Could you recreate the FMU? It seems to me like you are using an outdated version of idf-to-fmu-export-prep-win.exe.
I will therefore recommend  to
1) make sure you use the latest version of EnergyPlusToFMU,
2) delete idf-to-fmu-export-prep-win.exe (is in the folder where the FMU was compiled) which might have been generated using previous version of EnergyPlusToFMU?
3) recompile the FMU.

Minor thing: I noticed that your IDF is for version 8.4 but you are using 8.5. This is certainly not the root of your current problem but might have some consequences when trying to run the model. I will therefore suggest to always upgrade your input file to the version of EnergyPlus you would like to use.

Hi Thierry,

Thank you for the instructions, i think the problem was due to not deleting the  idf-to-fmu-export-prep-win.exe .

1 - I followed each step, upgraded the IDF to the newer version too, compiled and the previous error disappeared. However, when running the simulation the values of Troom and Q remain constant and Several Errors where shown in the ERR file (in annex).

2- I went back to the previous versions (EnergyPlustoFMU 1.06, EnergyPlus 8.4, .idf 8.4) and no Severe errors were shown, so the simulation is OK.
I'm using the same settings on the IDF as the fmu_export_schedule example, which defines a Schedule - Fraction and uses it in the OtherEquipment with a Design Level - 1 W. The heating setpoint on the PI controller is 21ºC.
However I was not expecting the behavior shown in the screenshot in annex. The Q input in the FMU has huge peaks, and so, the temperature of the room is going up to 50ºC, instead of just the 21º.
I have another building models developed in dymola where this PI control works, so I don't know if the problem is due to the timestep restriction (600s)  that is influencing the PI (Ti:300s).

Do you know what can be causing this?

Regards,

Luís

Golden teachers are one of the best-known strains of the magic mushroom species Psilocybe cubensis. They are renowned for producing huge fruits, even in suboptimal growing conditions. Therefore, they have become a favorite among cultivators and are a mainstay of spore suppliers worldwide.

Read on for our complete guide to golden teacher magic mushrooms, including their effects, potency, and potential benefits. We will also provide a brief overview of the growing process and explain why they are many mushroom lovers’ go-to strain.

https://t.me/Mushies_12

Golden Teacher Effects
Like other cubensis strains, golden teachers’ primary active ingredient is psilocybin. The body breaks this chemical down into psilocin, which acts on serotonin receptors to produce its psychedelic effects. It usually takes around 30–60 minutes for the effects to begin, although they can start after as little as 10–20 minutes

https://t.me/Mushies_12

In general, these effects include alterations in mood, sensations, and perception. Some people experience visual effects, such as enhanced colors or shifting geometric patterns. However, visual effects are reported less frequently with golden teachers than with some other mushroom varieties. Most users describe an insightful and spiritual journey, which aligns with the “teacher” part of their name.

https://t.me/Mushies_12

Anecdotal reports suggest that side effects such as anxiety and paranoia rarely occur with golden teachers. Furthermore, some state that the overall experience is shorter than average, sometimes lasting just 2–4 hours. For these reasons, golden teachers are sometimes considered an ideal choice for those new to the world of psychedelics.

https://t.me/Mushies_12

Of course, other factors also play a crucial role, such as one’s mindset, expectations, and environment. Dosage also has a significant impact on the overall experience. Therefore, it is essential to understand golden teachers’ potency and prepare adequately before ingestion.

https://t.me/Mushies_12

Golden Teacher Mushrooms Potency
Mushrooms are a natural product and can vary significantly in potency from one specimen to the next. Therefore, it isn’t easy to give an accurate figure.

https://t.me/Mushies_12

However, golden teacher mushrooms’ potency is generally considered moderate compared to other cubensis strains. For example, strains like penis envy and tidal wave are known for being much stronge

https://t.me/Mushies_12

In terms of psilocybin content, a 2021 review estimated that 1 gram of dried mushrooms contains approximately 10mg of psilocybin. However, the publication did not specify whether this figure applies to Psilocybe cubensis or another species.

https://t.me/Mushies_12

Golden Teacher Mushrooms Dosage
There is no standard golden teacher mushrooms dosage because everybody responds differently. Also, as we mentioned, there can be significant variations in potency from one mushroom to the next. Myriad factors can also affect the experience, with dosage being just one part of the equation.

https://t.me/Mushies_12

Anyone inexperienced with psychedelics should start at the lower end of the scale to see how golden teacher mushrooms affect them before increasing in dosage
