All,

I have come up with this idea for a new MCE generator. The reason I
pefer something like this over the MEG is that I don't have to chop
down my magnets (an enterprise that often fails!)

You can view the design here:

Thoughts? Would this even be capable of operating in the manner
described on the Wiki page here? (
http://peswiki.com/index.php/Site:MEMM:3 )

Thanks!

Reading further, I realise I made a mistake above. On the diagram,
where it mentions something about having the coils aid the magnets when
turned on, it should actually say that the coils will oppose the
magnets when turned on, so as to demagnetise the core when the coils
are pulsed.

I am still open to thoughts and suggestions! ;-)

Hi Eldarion,
Yes I tried to post a reply but the google groups were under
maintenance at the time and it failed.

In a nutshell, you need to have two paths that the flux can take, this
way you have suggested only has one.
Also if you apposing pulse is powerful enough it will demagnetise the
permanent magnet.
I think you will find that the coil current required to appose the flux
from the magnet will be very large.

Its worth trying it anyway just to see what happens.
