Dear all,
Technology and Information Forecasting Assessment Council(TIFAC) of Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India is organizing Technology Vision 2035 for our country. This is the second such exercise of TIFAC and is a follow-up to the exercise carried out in the early nineties under Dr. Kalam (Technology Vision 2020). The program comprises of 11 different themes such as Agriculture, Health Care, Manufacturing, ICT, Energy Technologies, etc. Under each branch there is an expert committee which will come up with a report to aid the government in policy-making in those areas.
TIFAC and the Energy Technology Advisory committee have decided to have a parallel youth initiative for the same. This is keeping in mind that the youth of today are going to be the leaders and decision makers of 2035.
The Goals of this initiative are:
1.Identifying the trends in energy needs of our people by 2035
2.Identifying the appropriate mix of technologies to fulfill those
needs
3.Identifying the investments in energy R&D, energy related infrastructure
and energy education/training.
4.Making a 'student report' with the help of 1,2 and 3.
5.Reaching out to students all over India, and trying to get their perspective.
A team of 15 students from IIT Bombay has created a basic framework to take this project to the next level. Now, to carry it forward to the the rest of India, we would like many more students and youth experts to join us and make it successful. We are looking for volunteers to join the team and contribute in any way they can.
You can join the team as Ambassadors or Collaborators (called Group Committe Members)
