hi Guys,
For the release of funds for our initiative, Prof Banerjee has asked to submit a write-up on the deliverables from our initiative. I have written a draft below. Please make suggestions before we can email it to Prof Banerjee. I hope that I haven't missed anything which especially involves spending funds.
Thanks.
Jay

Dear Prof Banerjee,
With reference to our discussion sometime back to submit the scope and deliverables for the ET Vision 2035 student initiative, I am emailing you a write-up of the plan for the student initiative.
As the first step, we have divided the Energy Technologies into 21 groups and we have created a website for each group. http://www.etvision2035.in/framework gives the links to all the 21 group websites. Through these websites, we plan to interact with the youth all over the country and take their inputs. The activities have already started.
For publicity, we have created a facebook page which can be visited at http://www.facebook.com/ETVision2035 to keep people posted from time to time. Coal, Solar PV and Oil groups have also shared videos on this facebook page already to spread awareness about these sectors and the initiative. Other groups like Buildings, Finance, etc to follow suit.
We have also created a short promotional video for our initiative at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIqo_k4rBOg&feature=plcp for a good outreach.
We have printed about 350 A2 size posters to be sent to various colleges doing energy based analysis and research for publicity in the next couple of weeks.
We would also like to make press releases from time to time. One such press release appeared in Indian Express on 9th July which is also available at this link: http://www.indianexpress.com/news/iitbombay-students-to-map-countrys-energy-needs-find-answers/971946/
We would also like to conduct competitions in August, 2012 to enhance the quality of articles in which we would invite novel ideas/ vision for 2035 for energy technologies from all over the world. As discussed in the 26th March meeting, we would like to give best 10 artcile prizes for Rs 5000 each and a certificate from TIFAC with 10 consolation prizes.
We have also started using Skype group video calling facility to have multiple
users in different locations of the world to be able to video conference with
each other for meetings, presentations and publicity. We also expect to make
calls nationally and internationally and send sms.
This exercise would culminate in the creation of a student report to be submitted to the TIFAC committee in October 2012. As a long term benefit, the research/industry collaborations established between various groups can go on for years to come. This exercise would also act as a trendsetter for other streams like health care, manufacturing, agriculture, etc to follow.
Please let me know for questions.

Jay Dhariwal
