Dear All

I haven't had the time to organise an event for Russell Smith to talk
about low carbon refurbishment on 6th March as planned some time ago.
Russell is crazily busy as he is a leading person in the UK on
eco-refurb, but he would still be happy to speak sometime. (He had
forgotten about the pencilled-in booking).

This would be an excellent event to have in FR and I am sure it would
inspire some great local low energy refurb examples. Russell is also
involved in providing subsidised training in eco-refurb skills across
the SE, which would be good to have taken up by local small builders
etc.

It just needs someone to take this on who's actively involved with TFR
work or an enthusiast for the issues. (I'm inevitably more focused on
Hoathly Hill you see rather than FRow - and have booked Russell to do
a survey of our house up here for potential LC refurb). Could someone
from the energy group take it on??

Contact details: *"Russell Smith (Parity Projects)"
<russel...@parityprojects.com>*
Just mentioned I passed this on to someone directly involved in TFR.

Best wishes
Steve

Hi folks - im out of circulation for a few weeks now, not sure who else might run with this. I do know that Russell is crazy busy because Im waiting for them to finalise a report that I commissioned over 2 years ago, I get the impression that they just dont have the time to work on domestic property anymore, which means that they may be of limmited interest to folks in F.R.

this seems to be a common story.... like Peter and Carsten in the village, people start off focusing on the domestic market but it is very hard to make money out of and involves lots of very fiddly bits of work with very low margin... so they gravitate to things like community housing schemes.. understandable!

Dear Energy Group Colleagues,

In his email below Steve says:

" It just needs someone to take this on who's actively involved with TFR
work or an enthusiast for the issues."  If Steve or one of you would like to present what Steve says for a wider Tranfrow 'audience' and send to me, I'll forward it on to my Transition Forest Row email list - which may have people on it who are not in a group and so less likely to have 'heard' his request.

I'm going to be away for most of April and May, but if no one has picked it up by then, I will be able to.  However I think before we do that, a meeting of the energy group would be in order to re focus and get back on purpose.

Regars to all

Brocas et al,

I have been overtaken by the LC renovation of my home which started on 4th January and is now well underway. In additon I am standing in the general election in Mid Sussex for the Green Party, so the TFR energy has taken a back seat.  But you are right we do probably need to have a meeting to refocus the energy group after the LCCC diversion. I have not been tracking things.. sorry!

Russell Smith will tell you it's [low carbon refurb] not difficult, its all about planning - and he is dead right!

Regards,

Hi Paul, et al

I agree we should try to keep the group going, but I am spread a bit thin just now, especially until the General Election.
