Subject: [ttl news] Gentle reminder: Ovesco share offer launch tomorrow Tuesday 19 April

This is to warmly invite all transitioners and friends to the historic launch tomorrow of Ovesco's share offer for Britain's first community-owned solar power station, 7-9pm Lewes Town Hall. Ovesco is the energy company set up by the Energy group of Transition Town Lewes and this 544-panel solar array, on the roof of Harveys' warehouse in Davey's Lane, is the first step in its vision to power Lewes renewably. 

The evening will start with a description of the share offer and its context, including questions from the floor. There will then be a break when the participants can make  investment pledges (you can invest from £250 to £20,000) or make payments (bring your cheque books if you plan to invest). There will also be free and subsidised food and drink from the sponsors of the event, Bills and Harveys and stalls from our other sponsors, Good Energy and Southern Solar. 

The second half of the evening is an Energy Question Time with a brilliant panel: Huw Irranca-Davies, shadow energy minister; Sara Parkin, Forum for the Future, and Norman Baker, our MP and minister for transport. Questions posed from the floor will give the panel a chance to discuss the very burning issue of our energy future. 

The evening will end with more drinks and further chance to invest. 

News: pledges are currently £158,250 out of a target of £307,000 to be raised in the next month. You can read more, including the prospectus, on Ovesco's website here. 

This is your chance to be involved at the beginning of a pioneering project to power ourselves renewably. Something to tell your grandchildren!
