this sounds like a good step forward.
BTW - I sent the email to give notice that we intend to apply but have
had no acknowledgement so far.

We are like tenant farmers chopping down the fence around our house
for fuel when we should be using Natures inexhaustible sources of
energy — sun, wind and tide. ... I'd put my money on the sun and solar
energy. What a source of power! I hope we don't have to wait until oil
and coal run out before we tackle that.

Hope you have a good trip. The other one that you might find interesting (as it has a large water storage component) is at the house that is part of Tablehurst Farm, just beyond the water works. It is also solid fuel but they have a huge water store which I don’t think Mark uses in the same way. I’m sure Peter Brown would arrange for you to see it if people are interested. Also of course Hoathly hill boiler if you haven’t seen it – though that is not on an individual domestic scale.
Best wishes
Rowena
