WEC assessment of global energy policies - what does it mean for the UK?
UKWEC workshop
Venue: CMS Cameron McKenna, Mitre House, 160 Aldersgate Street, London
EC1A 4DD
Governments across the world typically wrestle with similar energy policy
objectives, eg as to security, social equity and the environment. The
policies that are pursued are important.
The World Energy Council has recently published its latest study of 92
country energy policies and practices (see
http://www.worldenergy.org/publications/). It has developed an Energy
Sustainability Index (in which the UK ranking has slipped), and included
sector reports on transport, energy efficiency and innovative financing
mechanisms for existing and new infrastructure.
Our emphasis on 14 February will be on the key messages from this work
for the UK.
