Jack Kelly and I are thinking about organising another meet up in London this summer, and would love to get your thoughts on what you would find most useful. Rather than a full paper submission and peer review format, we're thinking of inviting a set of speakers to make up the programme. Some thoughts I had are:
  • NILM news
  • NILMTK developments
  • Industry lightning talks
  • Algorithm talks
  • NILM competition proposal
There might also be the potential for a second day of NILMTK masterclass/hackday if the demand is there!

What are your thoughts?

I would appreciate another meeting!

Perhaps it would also be interesting to discuss joint-project ideas (EU-proposal). Would be attractive for industry and for academia.

This sounds like a great idea. I'll have a think about how to work it into the agenda. Thanks!

A remote attendance option would be great. I'm in Canada and would tune in if this were made available.

Great idea! The easiest way of doing this is probably by sitting a laptop on the front row connected to a public Google hangout. Would this work for you?

Yes, that would be ideal.

I am just starting a Masters thesis on the topic of applying Machine Learning techniques to the area of NILM (specifically in an off-grid solar micro-generation environment) and I would be very keen to attend an event such as this. Do you have any tentative idea of the proposed date?

Thanks,
James

Hi James, welcome to the commhnity! We're hoping to be able to announce the date in a week or so, but it's looking likely to be early July at the moment.

Hi Oliver, I've been following your research since I started mine. I'm currently working with NILM using data mining techniques. I'd appreciate to attend at this meeting.
I subscribed to this group to keep in touch.

Hello fellow NILMERS,

I am also during my master thesis in NILM with using neural networks. I might be done by July but still would like to attend. So an option with Google Hangout would be great!

Hi Oliver,

a NILM workshop for 2015 is a great idea. We've been already in touch on your blog regarding this event.

The research group here at the Fraunhofer Institute in Duisburg has been working on NILM since 2012.

So we are excited to get in touch with the NILM community. Either me or one of my colleagues will hopefully join the event.

Looking forward to the workshop!

Best regards

Timo

We'll be live streaming the event via a Google Hangout On Air:
The stream will start at 10.00 BST (GMT+1), but do keep an eye on NILM_Workshop on twitter for any new links if we encounter technical difficulties on the day.
