Good Afternoon CHRC Friends!
🎉 Fun Run & Happy Hour 🎉
To celebrate the 250th Birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps and making it halfway through your MCM training program, we’re hosting a special 2.50-mile “Fun Run” and Happy Hour on Wednesday, July 30th! (Use this link to mark your calendar now!)
We will start and finish at The Brig! Start time is scheduled for 6:30 pm. We are going to kick off right at 6:30 pm so come a few minutes early! Come out and bring any of your friends! After the run, stick around for a drink. Ray Celeste has generously offered a small tab, so grab a cold beer or beverage of your choice and enjoy some time with fellow CHRC friends.
We will also have some local industry at the Brig! Dr. Nicole Kruger, a local physical therapist and running consultant, will join us. She specializes in spine and sports care, as well as manual therapy.
**Do not worry, our regular programming runs will continue this week. This is just an additional fun run!**

our runs once they arrive.

Please note that all of our runs now begin at 6:30 am, including the Saturday runs!
Also, just a reminder that we now have Modified Saturday Runs. Not training for the marathon but still want to join? We have shorter runs on Saturday for those who still want to run with the group, but maybe not as far! Come join our modified Saturday Runs!

Tuesday, July 29 - (6:30 AM from US Capitol/southwest corner of Capitol Reflecting Pool) White House (From Grant Statue to White House and back via National Mall) 4 mi.
Wednesday, 30 July - Fun Run & Happy Hour , Start at the The Brig, go north on 8th st, right on North Carolina Ave, circle Lincoln Park and come back the same way. BUT then circle Barracks Row/Commandant's home and then back to the brig for a beer!
Thursday, July 31 - (6:30 AM from US Capitol/southwest corner of Capitol Reflecting Pool) Anacostia to RFK (From Grant Statue to New Jersey to Navy Yard Riverwalk to 11st Street Bridge along Anacostia to RFK Bridge to Capitol via E Capitol St)
Saturday, August 2 - (6:30 AM from WWII Iwo Jima Memorial) Mount Vernon Trail (From Iwo to MVT 6 mi. out and back – 12 mi. total) 12 mi. (**Water Stop at Gravelly Point 3 mi. / 9 mi)
· Modified Saturday run (from Iwo Jima to Gravelly point water stop if you don’t want to do the 12 mile run) 6 miles total

Marine Corps Motivation:
In honor of the 250th Marine Corps Birthday, 50th MCM, and 25th CHRC Anniversary, some of our Marine Defense Fellows will be kicking off Saturday runs and manning water points to keep you moving!

Just a quick reminder that our 2.50-mile Fun Run & Happy Hour is happening tomorrow—Wednesday, July 30th at 6:30 PM at The Brig! We’ll be kicking off right at 6:30, so plan to arrive a few minutes early to warm up and check in.
This event celebrates the 250th Birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps and marks the halfway point in your MCM training program!
We’re also excited to announce that Alex Hetherington, Director of the Marine Corps Marathon Organization, will be joining us, along with Dr. Nicole Kruger, a local physical therapist and running consultant specializing in spine, sports care, and manual therapy.
After the run, stick around to enjoy a drink and great conversation. Even if you are not running, please come out! There will also be a small tab, so grab a cold beverage and relax with your fellow CHRC friends.
