We’ve got some exciting updates this week so please read through carefully!
New Start Time for Saturday Runs and Additional Modified Runs:
Saturday runs will now begin at 6:30 AM due to the rising summer temps. Set those alarms and hydrate!
Modified Saturday Runs: Not training for the marathon but still want to join? We will begin having shorter runs on Saturday for those who still want to run with the group, but maybe not as far! Come join our modified Saturday Runs!
Week 4 Run Schedule (See links below for a map of each run):
Tuesday, June 24 (6:30 AM SW corner of Capitol Reflecting Pool) Lincoln Memorial (From Grant Statue to Lincoln Memorial and back via Mall) 4 mi.
Thursday, June 26 (6:30 AM SW corner of Capitol Reflecting Pool) Anacostia Trail (From Grant Statue to Fred Douglass to 11th St Bridge to Penn Ave and return via Independence) 5.7 mi.
Saturday, June 28 (6:30 AM from Iwo Jima Memorial) Rock Creek Trail (From Iwo Jima Memorial to William Howard Taft Bridge underpass and back via Rock Creek Trail) 10 mi. We will also have a water point next to Thompson Boat Center at the 3/7 mile mark. This is where Modified Run Folks will break off

Marine Corps Motivation:
In honor of
the 250th Marine Corps Birthday, 50th MCM, and 25th CHRC
Anniversary, some of our Marine Defense Fellows will be kicking off
Saturday runs and manning water points to keep you moving!
This week’s run will be supported by Captain Desiree Peterson and Captain
Meredith Beresford. Be sure to say hello and thank them!

Looks like the temperatures are finally starting to cool off a bit!
Just a quick reminder: tomorrow’s run kicks off at 6:30 AM.
We’ll have a modified 4.5-mile route for those (like me!) not doing the full 10 miles, and a water point will be set up along the way.
