Capitol Hill Running Club Friends,

As the weather warms up day by day, we hope to see more of you out there! Please join us - it is fun! And if you’re wondering where to start… nothing simpler than that: just sign up for a race and come train with us!

Speaking of which, the 2026 Marine Corps Marathon Race Series is kicking off in just two weeks! There are several races to choose from, and if you’re feeling inspired you can even take on one (or two) of the multi-event challenges! Just because we can 😊 Not enough? Try the Armed Forces Service Challenge! We’ve got you fully covered, so you can stop looking for excuses and join us. More details on the 2026 Marine Corps Marathon Race Series are below and attached.

This Week’s Runs

Tuesday, March 10 (6:30 AM from US Capitol/southwest corner of Capitol Reflecting Pool)

Two Bridges Run - 6.1 miles

Route: West on Independence Ave (to avoid construction on the South side of Mall), L - 15th St, follow E Basin Dr past Jefferson Memorial, continue over 14th Street Bridge. On Virginia side of bridge bear right onto Mount Vernon Trail northbound. Bear left on pathway towards Memorial Bridge and cross to bridge. Bear right around Lincoln Memorial and return to Capitol via North side of Mall.

Thursday, March 12 (6:30 AM from US Capitol/southwest corner of Capitol Reflecting Pool)

White House Run – 4.1 miles (or some 5.3 miles if extended)

Route: Take North side of Mall westbound, R 15th St NW, L – Old Pennsylvania Ave plaza on north side of White House, L – 17th St NW, Cross Constitution Ave and continue to South side of Mall trail, return to Capitol. You can also extend the route by passing by Lincoln Memorial on your way back – after crossing Constitution Ave,  turn right to the North side of Mall towards Lincoln, up the stairs and back on the South side of Mall to Capitol.

Saturday, March 14 (7:30 AM from Marine Corps War Memorial/Arlington) 

Custis Trail Run (aka every runner’s favorite 😊), out and back for a distance of your choice. 

Route: Ft. Myer Dr/Lynn St through Rosslyn, L – Lee Hwy just before Key Bridge, Pick up Custis Trail in front of what used to be the old Key Bridge Marriott Hotel.

A special treat: Armed Forces Service Challenge: Complete each of the following races and earn a coveted series medal: Coast Guard Marathon, Air Force Marathon, Army Ten-Miler, Marine Corps Marathon and Space Force T-Minus 10-Miler. The Navy is developing a race in San Diego that will be coming soon.
