Good Afternoon CHRC Friends!
Time to really feel the ‘pain’ with the longest run of our training program this Saturday, October 4! Make sure you are hydrating and stretching for this one!
Week 18 Run Schedule (See links below for a map of each run):
Please note that all of our runs begin at 6:30 am, including the Saturday runs!
Also, just a reminder that we now have Modified Saturday Runs. Not training for the marathon but still want to join? We have shorter runs on Saturday for those who still want to run with the group, but maybe not as far! Come join our modified Saturday Runs!
This week's runs are:
Tuesday, September 30 : (6:30AM from US Capitol/Grant Statue) Lincoln Memorial and back to Grant Statute (4.3 miles)
Thursday, October 2 : (6:30AM from US Capitol/Grant Statue) 4.8 Miles, Around the Tidal Basin and back to Grant Statue.
Saturday, October 4: (6:30AM from WWII Iwo Jima Memorial) From the WWII Iwo Jima Memorial, heading to the Francis Scott Key Bridge, then south on Rock Creek Trail to Hains Point (water point at the tip). Continue north to the National Mall, east to the Grant Statue in front of Capitol Hill (around Capitol Hill reflection pool), then loop back through the Mall and around the White House before returning to Hains Point (water point again at Hains Point). From there, proceed to Memorial Bridge and south on the Mount Vernon Trail until the parking lot at Gravely Point, then return to the Iwo Jima Memorial. Total distance is 23 miles, with water point available at tip of Hains Point (5.5-mile and a 15-mile water stop.) Multiple bathrooms and water fountains along the way

Marine Corps Motivation:
In honor of the 250th Marine Corps Birthday, 50th MCM, and 25th CHRC Anniversary, some of our Marine Defense Fellows will be kicking off Saturday runs and manning water points to keep you moving!
This week’s run will be supported by Capt Elizabeth Hosie and MSgt Joe Barnard.
