Good Afternoon CHRC Friends,

Thank you to everyone who came out for the run and happy hour on Wednesday evening! Despite the warm weather, it was great to see everyone.

CHRC T-Shirts Are Coming!
Shirts will be $25 each and available for purchase/pickup at our runs once they arrive. See attached image.


Week 10 Run Schedule (See links below for a map of each run):

Please note that all of our runs now begin at 6:30 am, including the Saturday runs!

Also, just a reminder that we now have Modified Saturday Runs. Not training for the marathon but still want to join? We have shorter runs on Saturday for those who still want to run with the group, but maybe not as far! Come join our modified Saturday Runs!

This week's runs are: 

Tuesday,  August 5, 6:30am- Capitol/southwest corner of Capitol Reflecting Pool) Lincoln Memorial (From Grant Statue to Lincoln Memorial and back via National Mall) 4 mi.

Thursday, August 7- (6:30 AM From Grant Statue to Lincoln Memorial to Rock Creek Trail to CCT. Turn around at Francis Scott Key Bridge (8 miles)

Saturday, August 9 - (6:30 am start) Iwo Jima to Francis Scott Key bridge (Georgetown) down to Haines Point via rock creek trail then circle Hains Point (bathrooms available at end of Hains point). Once you get to Tidal Basin go north to National Mall then run down to the Grant Statue (in front of Capitol) and run back to Lincoln Memorial to Rock Creek Trail and then back to Francis Scott key bridge the way you came and finish at Iwo Jima (14.25 miles) Water point available at Thompson boating center (3 and 11 mile point)

·       Modified Saturday run (Iwo to Francis Scott bridge, then south on Rock Creek Trail to across Arl Mem bridge and back to Iwo) 4 miles

Marine Corps Motivation:

In honor of the 250th Marine Corps Birthday50th MCM, and 25th CHRC Anniversary, some of our Marine Defense Fellows will be kicking off Saturday runs and manning water points to keep you moving!


This week’s run will be supported by Captain Desiree Peterson and Captain Sean McSpirit. Be sure to say hello and thank them!
