Capitol Hill Running Club Friends,
Congratulations to everyone who ran the Cherry Blossom, the Paris Marathon, or any other race this weekend—you are truly an inspiration! A big shout‑out as well to Ray and Bianca for organizing the Cherry Blossom 10‑Miler link‑up and the post‑race celebration breakfast. Fun was definitely had by all!
The Marine Corps Marathon Organization has just announced a new distance for the 2026 MCM weekend: the inaugural MCM 8K, taking place on Saturday, October 24 at 7:30 a.m., the day before the marathon. And for those who have been holding their breath—unfortunately, to the best of our knowledge, there will be no MCM 50K.
Looking ahead, our annual CHRC Expo is coming up in May—stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks!
And as always, if you have an upcoming race you’d like to recommend, let us know and we’ll spread the word. Have a favorite route you’d like the club to try? Email us—we’d love to hear your ideas!

Eastern Market/Barracks Row/SE Residential Run, 4.1 miles
Route: Independence Ave eastbound, bear R on Pennsylvania Ave SE, R 8th St SE, L I St SE, L 11th St SE, L E Capitol St across from Lincoln Park, return around north side of Capitol
· Thursday, April 16 (6:30 AM from US Capitol/southwest corner of Capitol Reflecting Pool)
Tidal Basin Run, 4.2 miles
Route: South side of Mall, L - 15th St, after crossing Independence Ave follow E Basin Dr around Jefferson Memorial, R – Ohio Dr, R – Independence Ave after passing MLK Memorial, cross Independence Ave, return via south side of Mall.
· Saturday, April 18 (7:30 AM from Marine Corps War Memorial/Arlington)
Mount Vernon Trail Run, out and back for distance of your choice
Route: L – N Marshall Dr onto trail to L – Memorial Ave towards Memorial Bridge. At circle bear Right onto Mount Vernon Trail southbound.
