The log file discovery is the end of the grace period. Until you get that
message, you cannot be detected.

In general, take it slow and keep the number of bases low.

As a general rule, if you ever have more than 5 bases after the first
log files are discovered (and hence the grace period expires), you're
going to get discovered like crazy. You can bend that slightly with a
sleeping time capsule or two, but even with that, three active bases
should be plenty.

Assuming you're on 0.30 or above, the detection probability shouldn't
even show up until grace expires. It should also look very scary
until you get back down to a reasonable number of bases.

Save and load there is no other way to beat the game!

The game is perfectly winnable on all difficulties (yes, including
Impossible) without abusing save/load.

Well, I wouldn't say "perfectly winnable" on Impossible. Winnable,
yes, but it's blatantly unfair and will make /me/ lose almost all of
the time... and I wrote it! Studying the code is a must if you want
to have any chance of survival. It's not called "Impossible" because
I thought that looked nice in the difficulty menu.

Very Easy, on the other hand, is a cake walk once you know what to do.
If you pass 30% suspicion, you're doing something wrong.

I could understand savescumming on Impossible (though it defeats the
point), but on Very Easy, that's just sad.

Nevertheless, it's perfectly winnable. Which is not to say it's /easy/.
Or even fair. Just, you know, /winnable/.

I take issue with "perfectly", not with "winnable". ;)

Eh, perfectly is a no-op in that sentence, really. Either it's beatable
without savescumming or it isn't. But I suspect we've wasted enough
Internet Bits(tm) on this ;)

To get back to the subject at hand: Brightpad, you will want to angle
for the research that gets you to warehouses as quickly as possible,
as they're a considerably more stable investment in terms of compute
power. In addition, you won't want to have more than three or four
going at a time. And when you lose one, make sure to build its
replacement on a different continent; there are penalties for reusing
the same location over and over.
