Quitea lot of the topics can be found in CISSP material so just reuse that. For example, the excellent All in One CISSP book by Shon Harris goes too deep for the CISSP itself, for ISSAP it is just about right.

I also took the (ISC) CISSP-ISSAP Training Boot Camp provided by the Infosec institute ( -boot-camp/). It mainly brushes over a lot of topics and does not go very deep but it is a good refresher on the topics you are not very familiar with. In my case, it was common criteria, PCI-DSS and enterprise security architecture frameworks which I never encountered professionally but got some coverage in that course.

A couple of websites containing training questions exist. I do not link any as I found most of them lacking both in quality and in similarity with the real exam. The closest to useful were the free flashcards offered by (ISC)2 themselves ( -flashcards)

Pay special attention to perfect answers and be wary. From my experience, optimal answers are often a distraction and answer a related question that is not asked. For example, if an answer is a perfect technical solution for the problem, check what the question really asks. Does it actually ask for a solution? In many cases the question lies in the processes and revolves around obtaining information, verifying it, preparing options and presenting them to management.

The most important skill you need for this exam is gut feeling which mostly comes with experience. After a few years of working with threat modelling, risk management and application security I have a good grasp of these areas. In others, I have some working knowledge but nothing in-depth.
