EncryptPad, a free open source project for privacy and security, today announced the general availability of beta version 0.5.0.3, a community driven text editor facilitating symmetric encryption of text and binary files that implements the OpenPGP protocol.

The main purpose of this release is the support of wider range of CPUs, an improvement in the build configuration, updated dependencies, updated localization and bug fixes.

Release notes:

* Fix passphrase focus on the text field in get passphrase/key dialogue
* Add Spanish translation
* Bug fix: in FakeVim Alt+Shift normally used to switch languages inserts a 0x00 character.
* Bug fix: Switching wrap / nowrap does not update the line numbers
* Update Botan to 2.19.3
* Add more logging for working with files. Provide error messages in the logs when file operations fail.
* Parameterise the installation path and make /usr/local the default install location
* Disable the dependency on SSE4.1 and SSE4.2 to support older hardware

I would like to thank package maintainers, community for making this release possible and the contributors below:

* KoiZeroWafflz - Spanish (es_mx) translation
* Cristiano Fraga G. Nunes - fixed passphrase focus on the text field in get passphrase/key dialogue
* dudomatik - fixed compilation issues

I would also like to thank Aleksandr Sergeev and others for submitting bugs.
