EPD file will not open

Encryptpad file will not open. After I have created a password.

When I type in the files password, it opens and then closes.

How do I recover the file?

Hi Nicketas,

From your description I suspect there could be issues with opening the file in the editor. Maybe there were symbols or characters that cause the editor to crash.

Try to decrypt the file from File->File Encryption ...

The above step will treat the file as binary and you will be able to open it in any editor that can handle the data better.

After recovering the file, the data will be on your disk. So take steps to erase it properly later. Use `shred` tool on Linux
