I used to feel earlier(especially in his tamizh songs), it is very difficult to concentrate on the lyrics-take for instance-chandralekha song from thiruda thiruda-it is easy to appreciate it but I had to listen to it at least 4-5 times to be able to hum it.
I dont have much of a problem with Blaaze or Suresh Peters using their kind of pronunciation for a Take it Oorvasi or Columbus Columbus type of song and Rahman allowing it. Like you say, by now we have learned to live with it.But atleast thoese songs are playful and hence the mispronunciation is a little easier to digest.
The common reason being given for these remixes by our music directors and producers is that they are trying to popularize the glory of the old songs amongst the youngsters who may not have listened to them.(as if these younsgters dont have the capability to switch on the TV and watch Thenkinnam if they are that interested in old songs and as if somehow listening to these remixes will make them locate and appreciate the original even more.).
I would read that as making some easy bucks piggybacking on the popularity of the oldies.

The students sang 'Apaara Keerthi Galisi Mereva Bhavya Naadidu' and a medley of other songs. They also danced to the rhythms of the song 'Huttidare Kannada naadalli huttabeku'. In a mellifluous tune, the students rendered the 'Nada Geethe'(State Anthem) with great enthusiasm, glorifying the culture and heritage of the state.
