The song is about the hardships of Akon and his family, he had to go through many problems just like most other Africans. His lust for freedom kept him going and eventually made him be great. Poverty, racism, discrimination, war and social discrimination, and disease is some he would have went through. Akon is truly magnificent and has shown his hardships in life through this song.
